// Learn to Solder! A large variety of way cool kits are available at this workshop, all designed for total beginners to complete successfully -- and intriguing enough for the total hardware geek.
We make jewellery from found objects from the Open Tech Summit or from leftovers of other workshops. Feel free to bring own material or choose from provided stuff, there will be lots of 3d-printer-deposit, electronic scrap, lasercutter-leavings!
We will connect our Query Service Wikidata Talk with a exhibition area to build queriey's with people and introduce them to wikidata.
// Nitrokey is an USB key to enable highly secure encryption and signing of emails and data, as well as login to the Web, networks and computers. Other than ordinary software solutions, the secret keys are always stored securely inside the Nitrokey. Their extraction is impossible which makes Nitrokey immune to computer viruses and Trojan horses. The user-chosen PIN and the tamper-proof smart card protect in case of loss and theft. Hardware and software are both available as Open Source to allow verifying the security and integration with other applications. Website: https://www.nitrokey.com

// The Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) was founded in 2001 to support all aspects of the free software movement in Europe. FSFE is a charitable registered association (eingetragener Verein) under German law, and has registered 'chapters' in several European countries. FSFE believes that access to and control of software determines who may participate in a digital society. Therefore, the freedoms to use, copy, modify and redistribute software, as described in The Free Software Definition, are necessary for equal participation in the Information Age.
TinyBoy Project is an education project started at 2011. The talk is about the follow up of the project, what we did and the progress. To show the new version of the TinyBoy, TinyBoy2. And to discuss about how to integrate into STEAM.

Valentina is open source pattern drafting software, designed to be the foundation of a new stack of open source tools to remake the garment industry. Parametric design + open data formats + open source code = shareable/remixable patterns usable by any sewist or manufacturer for garment production. Valentina enables independent designers to become ethically profitable, and can empower designers focused on eco fashion and slow fashion. Small batch and custom sized clothing manufacturing is essential to create a sustainable future, preserve small to medium sized textile spinning and weaving manufacturers, enable independent and small designers and manufacturers to scale up to make a decent living, rebuild local garment districts, and reduce or eliminate slave labor. Valentina is available for Linux, Mac, and Windows.
In the recent years, brain-computer interfaces are becoming increasingly popular for the use at home. However, current consumer devices are still subject to quality issues, and while most of the time the software is hackable, the hardware is only in a very few cases. In this talk, a brief introduction into brain-computer interfaces is given, as well as a presentation of a novel neuroheadset, that is low-cost, provides high quality and is completely open-source.
“The Other Nefertiti” is an artistic intervention by Jan Nikolai Nelles and Nora Al- Badri which went viral. “With the data leak as a part of this counter narrative within our investigative practice we want to activate the artefact, to inspire a critical re-assessment of today’s conditions and to overcome the colonial notion of possession in Germany's museums”. With regard to the notion of belonging and possession of material objects of other cultures, the artists intention is to make cultural objects publicly accessible and to promote a contemporary and critical approach on how the “Global North“ deals with heritage and the representation of “the Other”. “We should tell stories of entanglement and Nefertiti is a great case to start with to tell stories from very different angles and to see how they intertwine.“ At this link you will find a torrent to access the dataset under a public domain: http://nefertitihack.alloversky.com Here is the video showing the scanning process: https://vimeo.com/148156899 “The Other Nefertiti” is a conceptual art piece questioning singularity and originality as well as ownership of material objects of other cultures. Nora Al-Badri and Jan Nikolai Nelles went to the Neues Museum and scanned the iconic bust, but of course nobody knows if even this is the original bust. Through time and restoration there might not much genuine be left of the artifact itself. We give meaning to objects as well as we give meaning to data. Why worshipping the original, while we have all that beautiful remixes as of today? Maybe it was a server hack, a copy scan, an inside job, the cleaner, a hoax, but who cares, first of all it is an art piece. Of course a scan of the same thing looks the same, doesn't it? And tomorrow everybody with cameras or smartphones or Xbox will have the means and technique, where one can reclaim the interpretational sovereignty through scanning and sharing. What the artists strived to achieve is a vivid discussion about the notion of possession and belonging of history in our museums and our minds. A discussion on the originality and truth of data as well as material objects is necessary, because in the end one concludes, that the institutional practice of todays museums and collections all around the Western world are corrupted. Museums are telling fictional stories, their stories, just because they control the artifacts and the way of representation. The fetishization of sacred staged artifacts and the Disneyfication is producing capital value for illicit trading and looting artifacts. One can't find a reflection about violent entanglement of the museums and their inherent colonial patina themselves. But isn't representing “The Other” always violent? Art is about building new narratives, deconstructing power relations, not scanning techniques... .
This talk introduces the functional package manager GNU Guix and the underlying concept of functional package management to a general audience. Also demonstrates the hackable GNU distribution "Guix SD" built on top of GNU Guix.

„Hallo Welt. // How can fabrics conduct electricity and is it possible to build electric circuits out of paper? In our 3 hour workshop children aged 6 and older will have the possibility to tinker and explore the impact of electricity in a playful way. They can craft figures made out of paper or felt and enrich them with electric functions. With our workshop we wanna share the fascination of technology with kids and want to encourage them to hack and tinker around with everyday objects.

Paper Prototyping is an easy-to-use method for creating, developing and testing concepts for applications and websites. Everybody can work together – no programming skills are needed. If we want to try something new, we don't need to delete code or discuss if the library supports it: just draw and cut out the new feature! As well we can easily do a usability test with our prototypes to get further input and check if the idea is going into the right direction.

Welcome in Berlin!
11:00 - 11:30
Keeping your data to yourself has become harder and harder. Luckily, there is a solution: ownCloud. At the workshops we will learn how to put your data on a server of your choosing while making it available to your devices wherever you are. File sync and share with others, music, picture and video galleries, mail, calendar and contacts apps and lots of more functionality in a modular, open source and easy to use PHP server app. ownCloud offers a web interface to all its functionality as well as access through webdav, CALDAV and CARDDAV, Ampache and through the mobile and desktop clients available for Win/Mac/Linux, Android/iOS/Blackberry and more platforms. You want it? You can have it. If you don't have a server yet, consider bringing a Raspberry Pi 2, a Banana Pi or a cubietruck with the needed tools (SD card/power/etc). Or bring a laptop, old desktop or your SSH credentials to your VPS or home server and come set up your ownCloud at the OpenTechSummit! In this workshop you'll be walked through the process and get hands-on help in installing and getting ownCloud up and running on your system. A quick overview of how it will (most likely) work: First a quick 'what is ownCloud' introduction. Then everybody (probably in pairs) gets a USB stick, SD card, development board and two network cables. The USB stick has a image to be put on the SD card. Then the Pi can be booted from it, connected to the network. I monitor the network and based on the MAC of the Pi I tell you your IP. From the laptop, you SSH into the Pi and install a web server and ownCloud. From your browser you then go and configure ownCloud.

During this talk we want to share our vision of how education will change within the next years: Thanks to open educational resources, open source software and the digitalization of the society learning is not longer restricted to school buildings and can happens ubiquitously. Thus, we believe education doesn’t need to be a privilege anymore. We want to show possibilities how to live up to it and share our experiences we already gained with Junge Tüftler: an initiative that offers children a playful access to coding & electronics.

Germany has been experiencing a huge wave of civic engagement for refugees and newcomers during the last year. This is great and that is why some people at the refugee hackathon in Berlin wanted to provide an overview of these projects as complete as possible by creating metacollect. metacollect is an open data service that collects and provides current information on civil society projects and initiatives. Our long-term goal is to strengthen all players through the creation of a single interface. In the talk, we will give you a short overview about how to map the landscape of projects that aim to support refugees and newcomers and what pitfalls we encountered. Also, we would like to share some of our learnings on how to set up an open data project from scratch.

Applications, algorithms and devices have an intended use – which often is ignored: People use Excel as a database, images to send text, Dropbox to share code… Why don't they use the »right« tools? Instead of pointing out that the users are wrong we want to show why these »misuses« of systems make sense from the users perspective and why the people who use workarounds instead of the »right« tools are hackers – without knowing it.

Open Source Circular Design is so ugly! Is it? Or is it just a new paradigm for design we are going to explore? Funnier, sexier, more elegant ... that was yesterday (or is today). But in the future maybe it will be modular, hackable, reusable and open ... This talk will be a reading of a letter exchange that happened between a guy that is a critic of open design and loves shiny apple stuff and a guy that tries to explore open source circular design. The letter exchanges brings up the key arguments of both sides. | It mentions and works in the context of the Open Source Circular Economy Days

If you have ever been online, watched a movie or taken a medicine you have been a user of information. Today information in the form of software, databases and innovations is becoming more important than ever before. Information is becoming main thing we make, trade and use. This is a new world being built on "bits". Its virtual nature makes it different from the physical world of bread and land and cars which can only have one user at a time. By contrast, information can be used by many at the same time. The implications of this are huge. It makes a world of open information both possible and desirable -- that is a world in which all public information can be openly and freely used, shared and built on. This is a world where no-one is denied access to life-saving medicines because of cost, where everyone has access to our cultural heritage, where artists, innovators and creators are paid more and more fairly. But getting there will not be easy. Dystopia is the default: if we do nothing we will get a world of exclusion and control where information is made to play by the same rules as our old physical one using "intellectual property" monopoly rights like copyright and patents. In this talk we will explore the road ahead and explain why we can and must create an open future. We spend countless hours creating technically amazing projects built upon awesome, cutting edge code. We then promote our project through newsletters, events and social media and await certain success. But nothing happens. Why? Whoops, we forgot to tell anyone how to effectively use our project, all that time waisted. In this presentation I want to draw upon my experience in writing tutorials and technical documentation to help you write clear, concise and usable documentation for your own projects. We will cover topics such as: - Why write documentation? - Creating context and meaning - Writing clear copy - Creating meaningful examples and tutorials - Markdown, Restructured Text, Pandoc, LaTeX - Making documentation part of build processes - Testing Docs - Versioning of Docs and maintaining consistency

picoTCP is an open source TCP/IP stack implementation targeted at embedded devices. Its focusses lie in Modularity, Portability and Quality. During this workshop, we’ll learn how to get picoTCP running on a Cortex M3 target. The end goal of the workshop, is to play a network version of the snake game. Target audience: Experience with C is required What we’ll bring: * Development boards (Seeeduino Arch Pro) * USB cables * Ethernet cables for the boards * An Ethernet switch * Bootable USB sticks * Source code on a stick * Manuals for the workshop What you should bring: * Brains ;-) * A laptop that can boot from USB or * A laptop with all the prerequisites installed (I really hope you’ll be running an Ubuntu based system, or I won’t be able to give much support) $ sudo apt-get install ncurses-base $ sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev $ sudo apt-get -y install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 (we need some extra stuff for 64 bit) Get the cross compiler for your system (https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded/+download) Extract it in e.g. /usr/local/gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_9-2015q1/ Add compiler to your path (add export PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_9-2015q1/bin/" to your ~/.bashrc file) We’ll need python too to program the boards: sudo apt-get -y install python sudo apt-get -y install python-pip sudo pip install --pre -U pyocd Verify installation: $ pyocd-flashtool à should tell you “waiting for a USB device connected” $ arm-none-eabi-gcc –v à should give you the nice versions
It does not make sense to mourn about clouds just being other peoples computers. With Kubernetes (k8s) and Docker you can easily create your own public cloud running on your cloud providers computers, or with a little more effort, your own *private* cloud running on or your *own* hardware. There has been evolved an entire ecosystem for software deployed in containers and for software components securing privacy in the k8s cloud. With CoreOS as an immutable operating system running immutable containers you could get a higher integrity level build in your application by design.

systemd is a core component of most of today's popular Linux distributions. It takes the role of the system and service manager. Collecting log output of services and the rest of the system is a key functionality of systemd, implemented in the "system Journal" logging system. In this talk I'll give a quick introduction to the journal, and present its advantages over traditional syslog.
Coreboot and Libreboot are precious free firmware replacements for notebooks like the ThinkPad X200. Unfortunately, a non-free flashing equipment that relies on proprietary ARM-architecture is usually used for flashing. This needs to end! The flashcat team from Berlin now proudly presents a flasher which makes use of the Parallax Propeller, a true open design GPLv3 microcontroller. That's really exciting!
17:00 - 17:30
Based on the analysis of more than 70 significant open source product development projects, this contribution intends to give an overview of the current state of this emerging practice. The following questions will be particularly addressed: - How projects use the public space offered by the internet and the existing sharing online platforms in order to stimulate attention and contributions from online communities? - What are the gaps between actual practices and best practices formulated by the open source hardware association? - What do these gaps reveal about the intention of open source product development projects? - What different types of open source product development projects can be characterized? This research is lead in the context of the French-German project "OPEN!-Methods and tools for community-based product development" involving among others the Technische Universität Berlin and the University of Grenoble. This project is aimed at understanding and formalizing the emerging practice of community-based product development and at developing methodological and IT tools in order to support these practices.

Linux container technologies are an effective way to isolate processes while saving system resources. This translates directly to lower hosting costs as opposed to running full VMs. rkt is a modular and secure container runtime for Linux systems. In this talk we'll first give a general overview of the project and then demonstrate how to use it. The overview will include why it exists, what it is, how it works and what makes it unique. The demonstration will show how to build an Application Container Image (ACI), share the ACI, run ACIs and Docker images and use various utility functions rkt provides.

(Menschenrechte irgendwo?!) Entscheiden mit "smart contracts" Maschinen was Recht ist? Smart contracts in der Blockchain? Was wird aus Privatsphäre, ~autonomie, Bankgeheimnis etc.? Was ist Askemos?

Number theory provides us many tools to create sometimes really surprising technologies for social communication. We have learned that math might be our last defence line against a real existing all-encompassing surveillance. One central challenge in this conflict is to combine authentication and anonymity. Since a lot of these technologies have not been brought to the implemented world yet, we want to present a proposal to integrate blind signature schemes over elliptic curves into Open PGP.
18:00 - 18:30
Digital content may be licensed in an open way, but how open is its reuse and modification? This lecture presents a novel way of self-reporting the degree to which content can be used and modified with FOSS.

It is time to write a new Constitution for the EU. We need a participation platform to do this. There are two kinds of participatory e-democracy. The one that an authority has set-up where you trust them that justice, fairness and democratic correctness will be provided, demagogy and inflammatory behavior be dealt with by trustworthy admins you never heard or saw. And the other one where the participants themselves are empowered to do this. Which approach do you find more appropriate for the task? Has this been done before? What went wrong in past attempts?

From its start in 2004 Mr. Rebentisch closely followed the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) dossier. The document sparked a fruitful controversy about the promotion and use of open standards in the European public sector. External interference, trade sensitivities and a weak stance towards competition lead to a broader EIFv2 - which is right now under yet another review by the European Commission. The talk will focus on the EIF potentials for open technologies and also briefly touch upon the ongoing trade negotiations and TTIP disclosures.
Bioflux democratises Life Science with the automated Personal Laboratory. Making research collaborative, open and affordable for everyone. The Personal Lab shrinks a biology lab into a portable, affordable and automated device for point of care diagnostics and personalised drug production. High labor costs restrict rapid prototyping in life sciences inhibiting development of point-of-care diagnostics and personalized drugs for plants, animals and humans. Existing automation robots used in the pharmaceutical industry are costly and only economic for high revenue drug production controlled by monopolistic multinationals. This leaves many urgent, but scientifically solvable, environmental and health problems untouched. We are developing the Personal Lab as a new platform for scientific literate citizens to read and write biological code. The Personal Lab is a portable and affordable device enabling automated and programmable execution of biological protocols, increasing efficiency up to 100000X. This will allow a community of users to collaboratively program and test new protocols and create bioapplications to e.g. solve the antibiotic crisis. We have established a network of hardware and software engineers and biologists that developed a prototype of a Personal Lab and are embedded in the global DIYbio scene and thereby quickly spead our technology . We will provide you with Biochips containing all needed reagents and a software that offers unlimited options to code your own bioapplications and share them with the community. Join us in this open source hardware project and start coding biology!

Connecting Syrian refugees
Connecting Syrian refugees (13:15 - 13:45)

About the session

More than 4.7 million Syrians have now fled the war and became refugees in other countries. Humanitarian aid is is usefull, but cannot replace civil rights or freedom of speech. The Berlin based independent project "Syria on the Move" gives a voice to syrian refugees and helps them to get in touch by establishing a webbased map tool. This allows refugees to upload their pictures, share experiences and comment on issues that really matter to them.

metacollect - an open data service for refugee & integration projects (13:21 - 13:51)

About the session

In praise of workarounds
In praise of workarounds (13:33 - 14:03)

About the session

Applications, algorithms and devices have an intended use – which often is ignored: People use Excel as a database, images to send text, Dropbox to share code… Why don't they use the »right« tools? Instead of pointing out that the users are wrong we want to show why these »misuses« of systems make sense from the users perspective and why the people who use workarounds instead of the »right« tools are hackers – without knowing it.

Hack die Nofretete im Ägyptischen Museum / #NefertitiHack and Cultural Commons "The Other Nefertiti"
Hack die Nofretete im Ägyptischen Museum / #NefertitiHack and Cultural Commons "The Other Nefertiti" (14:15 - 14:45)

About the session

Art is about building new narratives, deconstructing power relations, not scanning techniques... .

Making an Open Information Age
Making an Open Information Age (15:15 - 15:45)

About the session

The talk is for anyone interested in the coming information age and its implications for the politics, law and economics of this next century.

Authenticated Anonymity by Math
Authenticated Anonymity by Math (17:40 - 18:10)

About the session

Number theory provides us many tools to create sometimes really surprising technologies for social communication. We have learned that math might be our last defence line against a real existing all-encompassing surveillance. One central challenge in this conflict is to combine authentication and anonymity. Since a lot of these technologies have not been brought to the implemented world yet, we want to present a proposal to integrate blind signature schemes over elliptic curves into Open PGP.

Das Freie Software 1x1: Mißverständnisse gekonnt aufklären
Das Freie Software 1x1: Mißverständnisse gekonnt aufklären (18:10 - 18:40)

About the session

Quo vadis DevOps?
Quo vadis DevOps? (18:40 - 19:10)

About the session

Bioflux - A Personal Laboratory for everyone
Bioflux - A Personal Laboratory for everyone (19:30 - 20:00)

About the session

Let's set up our ownCloud with Jos Poortvliet at the OpenTechSummit (11:00 - 11:30)

About the session

Feel the force! ... or how to make open education for real
Feel the force! ... or how to make open education for real (11:30 - 12:00)

About the session

During this talk we want to share our vision of how education will change within the next years: Thanks to open educational resources, open source software and the digitalization of the society learning is not longer restricted to school buildings and can happens ubiquitously. Thus, we believe education doesn’t need to be a privilege anymore. We want to show possibilities how to live up to it and share our experiences we already gained with Junge Tüftler: an initiative that offers children a playful access to coding & electronics.

Die Rolle von Wissen, ökonomischer Faktoren und Professionalisierung in erfolgreichen Open Source Projekten am Beispiel von Odoo
Die Rolle von Wissen, ökonomischer Faktoren und Professionalisierung in erfolgreichen Open Source Projekten am Beispiel von Odoo (12:30 - 13:00)

About the session

TinyBoy Project - a 3D printer for education
TinyBoy Project - a 3D printer for education (13:00 - 13:30)

About the session

TinyBoy Project is an education project started at 2011. The talk is about the follow up of the project, what we did and the progress. To show the new version of the TinyBoy, TinyBoy2. And to discuss about how to integrate into STEAM.

Speakers

Alvin Lui

Makeomnia Ltd / HKCOTA

TinyBoy is an open design 3D printer. It fits well on a regular computer desk. TinyBoy is designed as an entry-level machine for students and newbies to learn 3D modelling technology and, ultimately, to encourage creative thinking. Tinyboy 3D printer is ultra-portable by being small. A one-to-one student to printer ratio can be achieved in computer classrooms to maximize the exposure of student to 3D printing technology. Students can also carry the printer around beyond classrooms to engage in their learning activities. On the other hand, it is very usable for education purpose for printing figures, toys and other creations that students like. Tinyboy is easy to build. Any student can assemble the TinyBoy by just a screw driver. We wish students can make their own machine and become pioneers to help other people. So that the use of 3D printer can be spread to their families and communities. The process of making can transform education by inviting students to go beyond being consumers of education. They can be a maker of anything, moving from being directed to self-directed through the process.

Open Source Circular Design is so Ugly! / Open Source Circular Design ist unglaublich hässlich! (14:00 - 14:30)

About the session

Open Source Circular Design is so ugly! Is it? Or is it just a new paradigm for design we are going to explore? Funnier, sexier, more elegant ... that was yesterday (or is today). But in the future maybe it will be modular, hackable, reusable and open ... This talk will be a reading of a letter exchange that happened between a guy that is a critic of open design and loves shiny apple stuff and a guy that tries to explore open source circular design. The letter exchanges brings up the key arguments of both sides. | It mentions and works in the context of the Open Source Circular Economy Days

About the session

Creating Service Clouds with Kubernetes, CoreOS, Container and Co
Creating Service Clouds with Kubernetes, CoreOS, Container and Co (16:00 - 16:30)

About the session

It does not make sense to mourn about clouds just being other peoples computers. With Kubernetes (k8s) and Docker you can easily create your own public cloud running on your cloud providers computers, or with a little more effort, your own *private* cloud running on or your *own* hardware. There has been evolved an entire ecosystem for software deployed in containers and for software components securing privacy in the k8s cloud. With CoreOS as an immutable operating system running immutable containers you could get a higher integrity level build in your application by design.

Current state of practices in open source hardware
Current state of practices in open source hardware (17:00 - 17:30)

About the session

Speakers

sehrgutachten und kleineAnfragen: Einmischen in Regierungsangelegenheiten
sehrgutachten und kleineAnfragen: Einmischen in Regierungsangelegenheiten (18:30 - 19:00)

About the session

Making participation: How to put participants in charge of their own e-democracy platform
Making participation: How to put participants in charge of their own e-democracy platform (19:00 - 19:30)

About the session

It is time to write a new Constitution for the EU. We need a participation platform to do this. There are two kinds of participatory e-democracy. The one that an authority has set-up where you trust them that justice, fairness and democratic correctness will be provided, demagogy and inflammatory behavior be dealt with by trustworthy admins you never heard or saw. And the other one where the participants themselves are empowered to do this. Which approach do you find more appropriate for the task? Has this been done before? What went wrong in past attempts?

Speakers

carlo von lynX

youbroketheinternet.org

Recently Yanis Varoufakis joined the Icelandic Pirate Party's choir, asking for a new Constitution for the European Union. It is quite obvious, that such a document must be developed in a participatory utilizing the Internet. Yet, the Internet bears many threats and e-democracy platforms are prone to many fallacies. carlo von lynX has been publicly discussing potentials and risks after participating in the debut installation of Liquid Feedback which led to 2011's electoral success of the Berlin Piratenpartei. Later he joined the Italian Pirate Party in the endeavor of designing a leaderless political party, continuously governed by a permanent electronic assembly – where decisions are taken together. At first it didn't work, but after several years of design re-iterations it now seems like the design is functional. A large-scale digital assembly or parliament is not only possible, it can also be self-governed.

Open Standards in perils? European Commission revises the European Interoperability Framework (19:30 - 20:00)

About the session

From its start in 2004 Mr. Rebentisch closely followed the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) dossier. The document sparked a fruitful controversy about the promotion and use of open standards in the European public sector. External interference, trade sensitivities and a weak stance towards competition lead to a broader EIFv2 - which is right now under yet another review by the European Commission. The talk will focus on the EIF potentials for open technologies and also briefly touch upon the ongoing trade negotiations and TTIP disclosures.

metacollect - an open data service for refugee & integration projects
metacollect - an open data service for refugee & integration projects (15:00 - 15:30)

About the session

About the session

In the recent years, brain-computer interfaces are becoming increasingly popular for the use at home. However, current consumer devices are still subject to quality issues, and while most of the time the software is hackable, the hardware is only in a very few cases. In this talk, a brief introduction into brain-computer interfaces is given, as well as a presentation of a novel neuroheadset, that is low-cost, provides high quality and is completely open-source.

Postapokalyptischer Schmuck / Postapocalyptic Jewellery (09:30 - 10:00)

About the session

We make jewellery from found objects from the Open Tech Summit or from leftovers of other workshops. Feel free to bring own material or choose from provided stuff, there will be lots of 3d-printer-deposit, electronic scrap, lasercutter-leavings!

OTS was born in April of 2012 in Berlin. The first local RailsGirls event — a free tech workshop with freshly created learning material dedicated to an audience of women of all ages and backgrounds during a both thrilling and cosy weekend — had just taken place, and had created much admiration and enthusiasm in its wake. Why not expand the concept to all tech topics people might possibly want to learn and open the events to an audience of all genders and experience levels? The challenge couldn’t be greater. Since then, hundreds of people have joined OTS as coaches, learners, organizers, and sponsors, in Berlin, Stockholm, and soon: even in more new cities (yours!). OpenTechSchool is a movement aiming to offer free tech education. Our events are open to technology enthusiasts of all genders, backgrounds, and experience levels, willing to coach or learn in a friendly environment. Our learning material is shared and collectively improved by the online community and anyone is welcome to use it to organize new OTS chapters anywhere in the world.

About the session

Scan die Nofretete im Ägyptischen Museum / #NefertitiHack and Cultural Commons "The Other Nefertiti" (09:30 - 10:00)

About the session

Art is about building new narratives, deconstructing power relations, not scanning techniques... .

TinyBoy Project - a 3D printer for education (09:30 - 10:00)

About the session

Speakers
